Week 2 Manicure Challenge (One day late)

Sorry, blogger. I've neglected you. And I super neglected you yesterday, since my Week 2 Halloween mani was due. I decided to attend a mini Sunday Funday with the mister instead. But at any rate, here is my uninspired Halloween mani.
And for those who could care less about nails, I shall post another post later!

Thrifting + new easy peasy recipe!

Hi all! Happy Tuesday!!

Today was a fun little day in the Nalley/Boyd household. Josh was off, so we started the day off with lunch downtown at a spot I love called Cafe Annie. After that, we decided to go run some errands and look around for some things for the house..which pretty much turned into an all day affair! Although we're pretty much flat broke at the moment, we managed to bring a few little things home. (Ok, so, I did the spending..but whatevs, right?)

We found these little leopard print shades at The Will for $2.99 each!
(And a black curtain rod still in the box for $4.99)

And this cute little hook for the guest room. This is the color palette we're using!
(Hobby Lobby- $3)

And..4 vases, 2 Petula Clark records (Love her), and that cute little elephant guy for the family room
(Salvation Army- $4.44 TOTAL!)
I'm going to do something super cool with those vases...just not sure what yet!

And I WANTED this for the guest room, but, my friends and Josh would not allow it. Too kiddish, they say. Sad face. (I'd be 5 forever if someone would let me)

Now that Halloween is almost over, we finally have pumpkins to play with! Haha

And perhaps the highlight of the day would be this bad boy. It's a pizza casserole recipe I found on Pinterest and it was AMAZE. Highly recommend for anyone! It was SO easy and quick!
Here's the recipe link:

Oh right, and I paired it with this ;)

That about wraps up my Tuesday!! Night everyone!

Meet the Dogs!!

Happy Sunday, bloggers!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was pretty laid back, but that's okay.
Since this WAS a pretty uneventful weekend, I've decided to dedicate this post to my other halves/my children..aka my pups :) A few of you have asked their breeds or ages etc, so, here you go!
For those who aren't weirdo dog lovers like me, I apologize for this corny post.
And, here we go..in the order they came home! First up, meet..

*Dakota*

Dakota is my first baby! He was born on February 14, 2004 and I got him as a birthday present that April. Here's us the day I picked him up at the airport:

He's a miniature American Eskimo. At first I thought I wanted a Pomeranian, so we were searching high and low for a white one. And then I came across this breed, did some research, and it was love. He's been the BEST dog anyone could ever ask for <3 He's sweet, loyal, well behaved, and such a momma's boy!

*Starfox*
Starfox is my mister and I's 'joint' child. His birthday is October 19, 2009 and we brought him home in February 2010. Again, I was looking for a female white Pomeranian..and saw this guy (the COMPLETE opposite of what I was looking for, of course) and fell in looove. So, I decided he must come home with us and after 10 million trips to go see him, Josh caved. Good thing he did, because now they're attached at the hip. He's a daddy's boy, but he's kind enough to demand equal attention from both of us..and anyone else who walks in the door.

One of the many visits

The day we brought him home :)

See what I mean? Daddy's boy.

*Aspen*
Aspen was a very sporadic addition to the family. Josh saw him on the http://ocnetpets.com website (the pound) and as soon as I saw his ad, I had to go visit him. At first I just wanted to give him some TLC and allow him to run around outside for a bit because they're unable to do that unless they have a 'prospect' to adopt them. But after playing and interacting with him, of course I was instantly attached.
He's a 4 year old standard American Eskimo and was only 17lbs when I adopted him, and was missing all of his hair on his backside from flea allergies. It was heartbreaking..as you can see below.

And this is a more recent photo. After some TLC..10 more pounds and hair all grown back!

And this is the day I brought him home! (January 2011)
Although we had a full house and this addition was a gamble, I am SO glad I did it. This dog has been absolutely incredible since day one. He was completely potty trained, is so obedient, such a momma's boy, and the most cuddly, loving, and sweetest dog in the world. It really blows my mind everyday how affectionate and amazing he is. It feels so good to know I saved this guy's life..and any other mammal additions we ever have we definitely be an adopted one!
-----------------------------------------------------------
And that's the pups! I promise I won't spam you with dog posts anymore. At least not this intense ;)

-Pretty good actually! Thanks for asking ;)

2. What are you wearing on your nails right now?
-A whoooole lotta pink, as you saw from the last post ;)

3.  What do you want to be/are going to be for Halloween?
-I WANT to be a Ninja Turtle. Just don't know if I'll have the time/resources to make it happen!

4. Have you decorated your house or bedroom at all for Halloween
-Not quite yet, still unpacking boxes, hanging stuff up, and arranging furniture! I'm aiming for some fall decor...cause Halloween clearly isn't happenin in this house. Lol

5. Do you have any fun weekend plans
-Kind of! Some friends of ours are in town for the weekend so I'll hopefully meet up with them and their kiddos, and Josh is off Sunday- so we're planning on a date day of some sort

6. Have you carved a pumpkin yet this season
-No no. I attempted that once 2 years ago..and it's very messy. Lol. I think I prefer dressing UP the pumpkin.

7. If so what design did you carve into it? If not, and plan on carving a pumpkin, what design will you cut into it?
-No carving, but maybe some decorating! I only have a baby pumpkin thus far.

8. Has the weather finally changed into weather where you live?
- YES, as of yesterday!! Thank you, weather Gods for sending some cool weather this Florida girl's way!

9. What nail polish are you really into wearing right now
-I am loving darker pinks and glitters right now.. but that's nothing new!

10. What nail polishes are you currently on the hunt for?
DS- Original, Color Club Boho set B, and about 100 others that are on my wish list!

Your turn!! Happy  Friday!

Week 1 Manicure Challenge!

A few of my girlfriends from a polish group I'm in and I are doing an 11 week mani challenge for fun. I'm definitely no nail artist, so, mine will be nothing compared to most of theirs- but, I just do it for fun! So, onto the challenge!

Week 1- Mani inspired by your favorite cause/charity
-I actually wanted to do something dedicated to ASPCA for this one. But, since they don't really have a paintable logo or set theme colors, there wasn't much I could do with it.
So, since this month is obviously Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I decided to honor that!
(Pre clean up, sorry!! Was on my way out the door)

-Mani inside with no flash

 -Outside in sunlight-

-What I used!

-And a quick PS, I won this Navy Blue shatter from Traci over at The Trace Face Philes in a giveaway, and it arrived yesterday! Yay! Thanks Trace! <3

Today's polish haul & Happy Birthdayyy Starfox!!

Well, today was a good day in Casa de Nalley/Boyd. Josh had the day off, so our mission was to make some progress in this house, since we've been slacking a bit the last week or so.
(Ok, so, by that maybe I mean I'VE been slacking. But that's neither here nor there, right?)

Anyhow, we slept in, watched two movies we Redboxed (Bad Teacher & Bridesmaids. Yes, again.), went to lunch, ran some errands, and attempted to put another dent into this neverending saga of unpacking/hanging things up!

However, the highlight amongst all of this was it was our Papillon, Starfox's second birthday! Yay!! So while we were on the hunt for the Color Club polishes I've been looking for, we obvi had to find him a little something. So, we decided to get him a Fox toy since that's his name :)
(Okay, and maybe because it was squeekie but didn't have stuffing inside for him to destroy within two seconds. But he doesn't have to know that, either.)

Where's the birthday boy, you ask?
(Or maybe you didn't, but just roll with it)

-Here's the birthday boy and Dakota playing with the new toy-
(Sorry for the blur, action shot and I'm no photog!)

-Posing for momma-

-Aspen's not interested if he isn't the highlight of attention-

-Daddy and Foxy cuddling after a long day-

-And last, but CERTAINLY not least..today's haul!!!-

-I FINALLY got the Color Club sets I've been lusting over! Well, 3 of them anyway ;) -
And also some new nail art pens, and I scored those 2 Revlons at Big Lots for a whopping $2!

-Close up of Boho and Foiled sets, because they're fab. Please excuse the flash.-

-Well, that about outlines my day :) Hope everyone else had a good Wednesday as well! Tomorrow continues more work on the house, and going to a friend's birthday dinner later on. That's all for now :)
